UNOW THROUGH OPEN AND DIGITAL DEMOCRACY (WEPFA)

UNOW proposes to evolve each nation’s Government system to become more Transparent and Participated by its citizens, to enable nations to unify, for cooperation, collaboration of similar adaptable system of administering.

As per the studies of UNOW, the following are proposed that can be adopted by any nation towards open democracy:- Open Information, Open Leaders, Open Vote, Open Polls, Open Unity.

Promoting Citizen Government Relationship

1. Open Government

Governments as they are for people, should be transparent completely as best possible, now highly possible (through IT). Like Open Source Software… Complete Transparency through IT. What should it be like then?

• Governments should disclose operational information of Government to the citizens through internet, and every update of government procedure is updated online live.
• The data should be open for the citizen’s to verify and comment upon, and a collective voting on issues can be undertaken if necessary, like the open source softwares, constantly updated and refined by the contributors. The ability to conceal data that affect the life of its citizens shall be ceased from government powers and released to public for verification and for them to remain aware about it.
• Now, with a project like an Open Government project, it will become the responsibility of the citizen to point and rectify flaws, suggest recommendations, advice to the Government, and the Government, knowing it is also a citizen, shall perceive its activities from perspective of the citizen. It is like an Open Source software, where the participants help the developers, and vice versa, and both are benefitted by it, knowing they are both working for the benefit of the general people, the people of earth, the humankind. Such should be the mindset of all, that all helps the humankind, the whole of humanity, towards achievement of common collective interest and successes and unified glory, and all shall exproliferate towards unified successes.

2. Open Voting

As we vote candidates, we should vote issues

Till now we are accustomed to vote on selecting our leaders [elections], now let us vote to have collective decision making, by voting on issues and not just leaders. Like a Referendum on major issues:

• Major Issues of the Government will be voted upon by all citizens directly by Direct Democracy through IT (Internet, SMS, etc.)
• Citizen’s must Demand, Governments must comply (The more it is demanded by the citizens, is better, because then the government will try more to convince the people by revealing its information to gain their favor)
• Collective Decision through Direct Democracy on Crucial or all issues (online polls, cell Phones etc.) through Internet.

Representative democracy is good but... the solution is not in simply putting someone in power whom you have voted through whatever means, because all are likely to get corrupted if not kept checked (by Open Leaders, and Open Voting). By such, whoever is in power, is there to maintain the position, under the public eye, and all major decisions the thinktank of the people shall make. For all such decisions involve and impacts everyone’s life, the common people, therefore, it is only natural such decisions are made by those that will be affected by it. These are not decisions for individual interest, but for the common collective interests, and common individual interests and so there is no alternative to this then. Voting a candidate is choosing the person to make decisions on behalf of the citizens (Representative democracy). Don’t you think now, that system needs an upgrade? In modern times of now, the decisions should not only be made on behalf of us by a so-called wise person, but should be made collectively, by us all, which is possible by today’s age of science and technology. During earlier periods the commenting and opining in direct democracy wasn’t efficiently possible due to the lack of internet and connectivity of all, as because it required immense amount of time, before, to come to a decision, after sharing the content with all others involved or that are of relevance. Now, it is.

UNOW proposes that voting should be done for all major decisions made by the Government, there should be no more decisions behind the veil of secrecy, and no more secret pacts.
The citizens will be the balancer of the Governments, which are limited by the limitations of human being when being left alone to run by themselves

3. Open Leaders

It is proposed that the leaders lives and office activities will be fed live 24/7 or 12/7 to the world as transparency, through the power of the Internet.

EXPOSED LIVES OF LEADERS will ensure that LEADERS SHALL HAVE NO OFFICE PRIVACY, for it is a sacrifise they should make. As long as representative democracy is followed, we need to see who the leaders mixes with, to overcome his possibility of becoming corrupted by propositions of undesirable influences. Although such may seem extreme, a balanced version of this proposition should be carried out for it is in the public interest to see all public position holders and a symbolic notion of transparency.

4. Open Polls

Voting only candidates put forward by the political parties, is this election or selection really? Think about it!

Instead of polls being participated by the political parties, finalized from only few candidates, much more candidates can participate for the national positions. Their profile will be available through the internet and people can select their desired choice. (More than 2000 candidates each constituencies to choose from)

It is good to have political parties but... in this age of the Internet and communications, with information flowing, with citizens much AWARE than ever of the world events, and it is not necessary to be a part of a political party to be voted for a position, but anyone with record of management and expertise may be a potential candidate.

Where a monarch was clearly the one who was in power, in representative democracy, it is ambiguous due to the deceptiveness, since the representatives are selected from houses of political parties, who have been groomed by their own, and will represent their groomers naturally, therefore true representation of people is not possible.

ARE THESE PROPOSITIONS REALISTIC?

In the age of IT, such is possible. We can put up informational profiles on candidates for the citizen’s to choose from through the internet. Are we not browsing the internet to get tender documents and voting for the new natural wonders, and what not? So why not select candidates from there?

We should abolish all or most budget hugging campaigning of candidates, instead, only posting their profiles on the internet, and what they can attain face to face. The candidate advertisement should be banned similar to as medicines are banned from advertisements, as cigarettes are banned from advertising in television in many places.

• Selected from all: That THE CANDIDDATES should be elected from ALL POSSIBLE CANDIDATES amongst citizens
• People should be represented from more candidates than as provided by the political parties (although political parties serve as barracks for training political leaders, who are basically ‘man managers’ of social scenario), yet, more efficient people maybe preferred who come not from such background, are not loyal to any sects (who has funded his campaign), but have proven track record of helping human socially. There must be proof of his deeds.
• FINALLY, leaders compete by credibility and proof and not by advertising through campaign. There should be at least 1000 representatives (non-party) for each constituencies that anyone could be voted to be in power. IT should be used for such communicability with the citizens. This is the future, and the only way we can ensure good governance, and no repetition of old stories of corruptions, oligarchs etc.

5. Open Unity

The Open Declaration of being recognized both as a sovereign nation and also as a part of an Unified Earth. For all it is worth, it will enable our children to view world as one and not limited by the limitedness of nationalism, as has been so during earth 1.0.

As you enable the administrative body to become transparent, there is a harmonious unity amongst the citizens and the government, and in the transparency, the government and the citizens become one, each supporting the others activities, and unifiedly, the collective body propel only towards success.

Why is this possible?

If you are 3, you may not be able to run and walk with the greatest coordination no matter how much it seems possible, but when you are 13, you can. And our systems were limited by the limitations of human beings in the past, but no more. Technology has enabled us to unite in our collectiveness like never before. Namely, through Mobile phones, and Internet, let alone the fast jets and planes flying every minute travelling to all the corners of earth.

Now, in the maturity and evolution of our systems, definitely greater central control and planning would be possible. And As because the Adam Smith and Keynesian theories have worked, doesn’t make them workable when you throw in the mix of multi race, culture, and traditions mixing beyond borders, cross-culturing economies, market systems, politics. They may not work after reaching a certain limit, as expected that ‘market fixes by itself through God’s hand’, true, for a certain limit with endless resources. But realize, in this game, you are limited by resources, and you do not have a second chance to change the world or reverse [or undo] your steps.

What System can attain the ultimate Sovereignty?

That which is sovereign, is supported by all through a participatory action, visible, direct. Such, in today’s time, can be organized by electronic means, where direct participation of ALL CITIZENS can be available through their cell phones and computers. Such means, were never available before in history.

Therefore, in times where we have acquired such means, we should adapt without delay to unite ourselves, to save ourselves, to determine our destiny by the intelligent decision we make, that impacts our lives directly, and also determines the future of the planet for our children, and their children, which is how our legacy has retained throughout ages,

And it is the only way to survive the species of human and its dear ones and expand their population all over the galaxies, as is the Divine Intent of GOD.

Only This will enable Attainment of the Ultimate Sovereignty
